Profile

Information

Tanemura started drawing back in nursery school. The first time she created a manga was her first summer in high school. She sent a story to Ribon (a shojo manga magazine) for a contest. The story made it past the first round, but was later let go. Her next attempt was a four-panel manga, which she again sent to Ribon mangazine. Her first published story was Nibanme no Koi no Katachi (which was later released in the Kanshaku Dama no Yuuutsu tankobon).

Tanemura's first serial manga was I・O・N, which was released in 1997. The story was originally scheduled for only three chapters, but then Ribon publishers asked her to extend it to six chapters. The next year, Tanemura started writing Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, which was her first multi-volume series. The series ran for seven volumes, and even had an anime adaption with an opening song performed by the Japanese rock band SHAZNA. The manga was later published in the Unites States by CMX Manga.

Tanemura's most recent series, Shinshi Doumei Cross, started in 2005 on the pages of Ribon magazine. Unlike her previous works, the series is a school-based story instead of a fantasy story. Tanemura has stated that it's her favorite kind of series and she is really enjoying writing it.
