TWICE promoting TWICEcoaster: LANE 1 (2016)

TWICE

TWICE (트와이스) is a 9-member Korean pop girl group created by JYP Entertainment. Its members were decided through survival show SIXTEEN.

The group is composed of nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The group debuted on October 20, 2015, with the mini-album The Story Begins. The title track "OHH-AHH Hage"'s music video hit 1 million views in under 24 hours and totaled 50 million views within 5 months of their debut. It became the most-viewed debut music video for any K-Pop group, replacing 2NE1's "Fire". Almost three months later, the mini-album climbed back up the music charts.

By December, TWICE had signed ten CF contracts, totaling earnings of ₩1.8 billion. This is the most for any rookie girl group after only a month since their debut.

On April 25, 2016, the group released the mini-album Page Two. The title track "Cheer Up"'s music video hit 10 million views on YouTube within five days. The group won their first music program award on May 5, 2016, on M! Countdown, and was soon followed by wins on Music Bank and Inkigayo. On August 16, 2016, it was reported that Page Two had sold over 150,000 copies, making it the first girl group having a sales record of more than 100,000 units in 2016.

Their third mini-album TWICEcoaster: LANE 1 is released this week on October 24th.
