Information

Trapéziste is the fourth full length album recorded by Kahimi Karie. This is her first release under her new record label Victor Entertainment. It was produced by Takai Koki, Kanda Tomoki, and Kahimi. This album is a step forward musically for Kahimi. Up until this point she was recording music in the vain of Shibuya-Kei. With the release of this record Kahimi started working with different elements of sounds, creating Lounge music incorporating styles of Jazz, Big band, as well as more obscure ambient and electronic music.

While Kahimi was living in Paris, France she became more interested in experimental and ambient music. At this time she also credits all the Jazz radio for her inspiration for Trapéziste. She felt that although these genres were quite different they all have a way of creating a whole environment, which became the goal for recording the LP.[1]
