"Setsunai Egao" is the debut single released by Shiina Hekiru. This is the lead-in single to Shiina's second album, Respiration. The song was written by Oshiro Mitsue, who was a well known songwriter in the 1980s and early 1990s. Both of the songs on this single later appear on the album, although the a-side is is given a new arrangment. The single was re-released on 2004.09.29, in a 12cm CD format as part of celebrating Shiina's 10th anniversary.
The single reached #59 on the Oricon chart, and stayed on the chart for a total of four weeks. This single sold a total of 10,865 copies. The 12cm version failed to chart on the Oricon.

Music Video
The music video for "Setsunai Egao" is simple and much like many early 1990s idol videos. The video features Shiina in a white long sleeve shirt and long skirt, standing next to a chair. The video features many up-close face shots of Shiina looking happy and sad, as well as singing into the camera.
The video is found on Shiina's first music video collecion, Hequil I as chapter #4.
