In March 2007, KAMIJO ([[LAREINE]]) and HIZAKI ([[SULFURIC ACID]]) who were advancing a new band conception from the fall of last year, they spent approximately half a year to search for members who could express their new conception, which was "The absolute Youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extremes of aestheticism".

As KAMIJO and HIZAKI finally found their new members, Jasmine You ([[Jakura]]), TERU ([[Aikaryu]]), YUKI ([[Sugar Trip]]), their trailer was released in Youtube and have made several interviews with foreign press. In June, the interviews with the German TV crews were on Sankei Newspaper (one of Japan’s domestic newspapers) and Versailles was featured in the article. “Versailles Band” was in Yahoo’s top 5 search-keyword ranking.
 
Versailles made their first appearance with a showcase on June 23, followed by their first performance on June 24. On these dates they also distributed their very first single and DVD single, [[The Revenant Choir]].

Versailles (ヴェルサイユ), also known as Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet-, is a four member Japanese metal band that formed in June of 2007. The band is composed of several notable figures in the visual-kei scene and as well has the concept of Descendents of the Rose. Having been under vocalist KAMIJO's indies label Sherow Artist Society, Versailles signed with Warner Music Japan and debuted as a major act two years after formation.
