In 2008 the company founded the digital music store Melon. LOEN stated that its vision is to be South Korea's leading entertainment company and its mission is to make customers happy designing entertainment lifestyle.
In August 2012, all the artists signed with LOEN moved to the new branch label LOEN TREE. In December 2013, LOEN acquired 70% of shares from the label Starship Entertainment, making Starship a subsidiary of LOEN.
In 2014, the company re-branded LOEN Music as 1theK.
Since January 2016, the company has been a subsidiary of Kakao.
