"Houkiboshi" is the 28th single released by Mr.Children. It was released in two versions: a limited CD+DVD edition and a regular CD only edition. The DVD contained a short movie directed by Tange Kouki, who has directed numerous music videos of the group. The title track was used as the TOYOTA's "Tobira wo Akeyou" commercial song. The single reached #1 on the Oricon weekly charts and sold 413,401 copies, making it the #12 best-selling single of 2006. This single charted for 34 weeks and sold a total of 419,805 copies.
