Idol group SKE48 topped the charts this week with their 7th single, “Oki Doki,” selling almost 383,000 copies. This is the group’s 3rd consecutive #1 single, and it also set their new personal record for first week sales, slightly outselling their last single “Pareo wa Emerald.”

At #2 was Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ “Refrain,” whose lyrics were written by AKB48 producer Akimoto Yasushi. Akimoto also wrote “Oki Doki,” meaning that the top two singles for the week were both written by the same lyricist. This is a rare accomplishment, and Akimoto has not achieved it since 1987 with Onyanko Club’s “NO MORE Renai Gokko” and Watanabe Minayo’s “TOO ADULT.”
