"Jidai" is ARASHI's sixth single. The title track was used as the theme song for the Nihon TV dorama Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, starring Matsumoto Jun. It was their last single released under the Pony Canyon label. This single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for nine weeks. It sold 354,460 copies, becoming the #48 single of 2001.
