MADARA is the fifth mini-album released by Gazette. "Sumire" was only included on the first pressing of the mini-album. It is their only mini to have a DVD counterpart, MADARA PV Shuu was released two months later including music videos and studio recordings. The mini-album was reissued by KING RECORDS in 2006 and again in 2010. The original release reached #2 on the indies Oricon charts, and #38 on the major charts where it charted for two weeks.
