Hinouchi Emi
Hinouchi Emi (日之内エミ / 日之内絵美) is a Japanese singer/songwriter who debuted in 2002 with the single Magic/World. She is best known for her collaborations with m-flo, but she has also written songs for many popular artists such as Heartsdales, Sowelu, and Suzuki Ami.
Information
Emi Hinouchi was born in Osaka on September 7, 1982. She spent her childhood in Taiwan from the age of 4 to 14 . Hinouchi grew an interest in global and Japanese music. After returning to Japan, she started making music and writing lyrics and completed "Painful" at the age of 16.
After that, she performed a lot of gigs as a vocalist with an indie band from Osaka. She presented the song "Painful" at an audition held by Taku Takahashi (from m-flo), who she was always a big fan of, and she won. She debuted with the double a-side single "Magic/World". Her first album "Dramatiques" was released in 2003. It includs four singles: Magic/World, Crying, Freak!, and Painful. As of their release, the album and singles are credited under 日之内絵美.
Since then, she has collaborated with m-flo, SOUL'd OUT, Crystal Kay, Heartsdales and Teriyaki Boyz. Emi has also written songs, provided backup vocals, and written lyrics for m-flo such as: "Luvotomy", "Simple & Lovely", and "Love Don't Cry". Her recent activity includes a collaboration with m-flo and Ryohei for the single “Summer Time Love," and with Korean hip-hip group Epik High for the song "Flow". She is also part of m-flo's family, along with Yoshika, Emyli, LISA & Ryohei who all contributed to the song "Love Comes And Goes" for m-flo's "best of" album titled "Award Supernova: Loves Best".
In 2008, Emi released her second album Me.... It includes four singles: O'Kay (the only one of her singles to chart, coming in at #50), GOODIE MEMORIES, Ai Dake Ga (愛だけが), and Kataomoi (片思い). The album includes collaborations with Ryohei, SOFFet, and MAKAI. Her four recent singles and album , along with various collaborations, are all credited under 日之内エミ.
