"Makka na Onna no Ko" is Koizumi Kyoko's fifth single. The single reached #8 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for sixteen weeks, selling 227,000 copies. The single also reached #54 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1983.
The single was re-released in 1991 as an 8cm CD. Instead of "Gogo no Hillside Terrace" being the b-side, Koizumi's seventh single's A-side, "Adesugata Namida Musume", was featured as the b-side. However, the re-release single failed to chart on the Oricon charts.
