Morning Musume Sakuragumi

Morning Musume Sakuragumi or Morning Musume Sakura Gumi (モーニング娘。さくら組) was one of two subgroups that Morning Musume was split into in 2003 so that they could perform in smaller concert venues. The other group was Morning Musume Otomegumi. In addition to touring separately, each subgroup also released two singles.

"Sakuragumi" means "Cherry Blossom Group." To reflect the image of cherry blossoms, Sakuragumi's songs were slow ballads. They were the more successful of the two groups.
