MADARA is the fifth indie mini-album released by Gazette. "Sumire" was only included on the first press of the mini-album. It was reissued in 2006 by KING RECORDS and again in 2010. A DVD with the same name was released two months later including music videos and studio recordings.
The original release reached #38 on the major Oricon weekly chart and charted for two weeks, and also #2 on the indie charts. The 2006 reissue reached #150 on the major weekly chart and charted for two weeks, while the 2010 reissue did not chart.
