Information

Pre-Debut

All of the members were working as part of Kansai Johnny's Jr. in different groups. Nakama Junta and Kiriyama Akito were a duo named B.A.D. and had the role of leaders of the Kansai Jrs. Shigeoka Daiki, Kotaki Nozomu, Fujii Ryusei and Kamiyama Tomohiro were the members of 7 WEST. Hamada Takahiro worked solo after his duo, BOYS, disbanded. As Jrs. they often had work together, like in concerts or stage plays.

During the Johnny's Countdown at New Year 2014, an announcement was made, that a new Johnny's group would make their debut. During that time it was announced, that the groups name would be Johnnys' WEST 4 with Nakama Junta, Kiriyama Akito, Shigeoka Daiki and Kotaki Nozomu as members.

Later they find that having the number '4' in their name is inappropriate as the Japanese believe that '4' is a bad number. The 4 members used this chance to ask Johnny Kitagawa, the president of the agency, to add 3 more members to the group.

A new announcement was made, stating that Johnnys' WEST will make their debut as a 7 membered group.

2014: Debut

April 23, 2014, their debut single "Eejanaika" was released and directly topped the Oricon single chart for that week.

Shigeoka Daiki was choosen to play the lead role in "SHARK 2nd Season", with Hamada Takahiro and Kamiyama Tomohiro, who already acted in the first season, as supporting roles.
