Limelight is the third major and fourth overall album released by PENICILLIN. It was first released through PIONEER LDC on July 2nd, 1997. When the band changed labels to east west japan, it was re-released through that label on October 21st, 1998 with the bonus track "Chaos". The bonus track is a new version of the opening track from their debut album Missing Link. The limited first pressing grants a 3-D cover. The album reached #8 on the Oricon charts, where it charted for five weeks.
