Yajima Yuko got her start in show business when she joined the idol group Onyanko Club after winning the Yuuyake Nyan Nyan-sponsored contest "Young Paradise Image Girl Contest" on November 29, 1985 with Watanabe Minayo, Yokota Mutsumi, and Mikami Chiaki. Yajima began to sing the main and backing vocals on many of Onyanko Club's songs, starting with Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi's single "Banana no Namida" in 1986.

Mikami graduated from Onyanko Club right after the Zenkoku Concert "Abuna~i Kagai Jyuugou" concert tour in the spring of 1986. She has retired from show business.
