History

Ogawa Rena participated in but failed the 2010 "Morning Musume 9th Generation" audition, and was later introduced as a member of Hello! Pro Kenshuusei in July 2011 at the "Hello! Pro Egg Kakikyuuka Mae Special! ~Shinjin-san!? Irassha~i!~" event. She went on to take both the 2011 "Morning Musume 10th Generation Genki Jirushi" and "Morning Musume 11th Generation ~Suppin Utahime~" auditions, but failed to pass either.

On January 2, 2015 she was revealed to be part of a new eight member group, later named Kobushi Factory. The unit consisted entirely of trainees from Hello! Pro Kenshuusei, including Fujii Rio, Hirose Ayaka, Nomura Minami, Hamaura Ayano, Taguchi Natsumi, Wada Sakurako, and Inoue Rei.
