In 1989, when Pinnochio's vocalist (which is SUGIZO's senior in high-school) graduated, the band was disbanded, Lunacy founders J (bass) and INORAN (guitar) recognized SUGIZO's incredible skill and recruited him into the band bringing along his friend Shinya.
