"THE GENERATION ~Futatsu no Kuchibiru~" is the 32nd single released by EXILE. It was released in two editions, CD+DVD and CD Only. First presses for both editions come housed in a sleeve cover. "Futatsu no Kuchibiru", the lead track of the single, was used as theme song of the dorama Tokyo DOGS, and as CM theme song for au BRAVIA Phone U1. "SHOOTING STAR" was used as campaign song for the NTV' broadcast of the 2009 FIVB Men's World Grand Champions Cup. "ROCK THE BEAT" was used as insert song for Tokyo DOGS.

The single reached #2 on Oricon charts, and charted for 17 weeks. As it sold 269,747 copies in 2009, it become the #15 single of the year. The title track was certified million both for Chaku Uta and Chaku Uta Full for over 1,000,000 downloads.
