MAXIMUM II is the second original album released by MAX. First pressings of the album came with a calender and an inverse poster. The album reached #2 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for sixteen weeks, selling 1,074,530 copies. Because the album sold over one million copies, it was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. It also reached #23 on the yearly for Oricon chart for 1998. The album won the award Record of the Year and the 12th Annual Japan Golden Discs Awards.
