Komuro Tetsuya (小室哲哉) is a Japanese pop musician and producer. He made his debut in 1984 as a member of the band TM NETWORK. In the late 1980s begain producing other pop artists. This carried into the 1990s where he became an extremly popular producer. He later became well-known for his band, globe, which at one time held the record for best selling album in Japan. He pionered the dance and techno genre in Japan and was the invincible music producer of the '90s. He is also quoted as the man who had the eye for new talents that could succeed.

Biography

  • 1984 - Together with Takashi Utsunomiya and Naoto Kine started out in with his band TM NETWORK with their debut single Kinyoubi no Lion.
  • 1985 - Started his solo work with the soundtrack of the anime, VAMPIRE HUNTER D.
  • 1989 - formed duo unit V2 with X Japan's YOSHIKI. He also played in a band with Warren Cuccurullo as a singer.
  • 1990 - Change TM NETWORK to TMN.
  • 1993 - Discovered TRF
  • 1994 - After years of rest, TMN finally broke up. Discovered and produced record for hitomi
  • 1995 - Debut together with Yamada Keiko and Marc Panther as Globe and Discovered and produced records for Amuro Namie and Kahala Tomomi
  • 1997 - Gossips Magazine flock over him and then lover Kahala Tomomi, accusing them of abusing drug use. Started overseas carreer with the remixing of the theme music of the movie Speed 2 : Cruise Control
  • 1998 - hitomi and Tetsuya go seperate ways due to hitomi wanting more creative control over her music. Started to distance himself with Avex Trax by producing Suzuki Ami. Founded ROJAM Entertainment
  • 1998-2001 - collaborated with French keyboardist, Jean-Michel Jarre, writing FIFA World Cup theme song, Together Now
  • 1999 - Infamous break-up between him and Kahala Tomomi causes downfall for Kahala and him losing his touch as The Invincible Producer
  • 2000 - Bounce back, reclaiming his touch in music producing though he's not as invincible as before
  • 2003 - Married Globe's female vocalist, Yamada Keiko
  • 2005 - Celebrated Globe's 10th year anniversary
