"Marie-Anne" is ALFEE's sixteenth single. It was released as a vinyl record in 1983, then as an 8cm single in 1988. The title track was inspired by the French-German film Marianne de ma jeunesse (Marianne From My Youth). "Marie-Anne" is ALFEE's breakthrough single, which eventually reached #7 on the Oricon weekly chart. Later that year, the band performed at Nippon Budokan for the first time and made an appearance at Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
