BIGBANG is BIGBANG's second Japanese album. It was released in two editions, CD Only and CD+DVD. CD+DVD edition comes housed in a special package. As difference from BIGBANG's previous Japanese albums, BIGBANG contains only original Japanese songs, except for "Baby Baby" and "Always" which are Japanese versions of the original Korean songs. Although it's their second Japanese album, it's considered their first one since it's their first album to be solely released by Universal Music Japan.
The album was re-released in March, 2010 in a 2CD edition, titled "BIGBANG + Live Tracks". The first CD of this re-release contains the same tracklist as the original album and the second CD contains four live songs recorded at the Nippon Budokan, on their last date of their second Japanese tour, "Electric Love Tour".
The album is certified gold for a shipment of 100,000 copies.
