"I am" is TM NETWORK's 38th single. Komuro Tetsuya drew the cover's artwork. The concept of the song is "looking at human life based on current events". The beat of the song was inspired from The Police song "Synchronicity. Former Limp Bizkit guitarist Mike Smith performed lead guitar on the title track.[1]
The single reached #5 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for four weeks. This would make TM NETWORK one out of five groups/bands to have at least one top 5 single in four decades (80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s). The other groups are Southern All Stars, THE ALFEE, BUCK-TICK, and TUBE.
