Gee is the first mini-album released by Girls' Generation. It was released after the group's nine month hiatus. The title track was used as the lead track. The song "Way to Go!" is a new full version of Girls' Generation and Dong Bang Shin Ki CF digital single, "Haptic Motion".
"Gee" is So Nyuh Shi Dae's first mini album. It was released after a 9-month hiatus for the group. Posters of the girls with the "jeans" concept were released in the streets of Korean and since most of them were stolen by fans who were awaiting for the group's comeback, SM had to request for the fans to not to steal them, since the group and the mini album needed the promotion.

The title track is composed by E-TRIBE (Ahn MyungWon). He's composed various hit songs, such as Lee Hyori's U-Go-Girl, but thanks to Gee's popularity, his fame as a composer skyrocketed in Korea. On the first day of the song in Korean music sites, it reached #10 on Melon (Korean's biggest music site), which set a record for SM artists. Quickly after, it reached #1 on all major Korean music sites, including Melon. The song was promoted in music programs from January to March 2009. It managed to win 9 times in KBS Music Bank "K-chart" and 3 times in SBS Inkigayo "Take Seven" chart (3 times is the limit for Inkigayo), and it was chosen as the top song for the first half of 2009 in KBS Music Bank on June 2009.

Gee has been covered and parodied several times by different (well-known and unknown) Korean comedians, musicians and singers. There are two dance videos of the song, one that features the girls in a colourful environment, and another that has them dressed in shorts. The dance has been performed many times by Koreans, as can be seen in youtube and Daum videos. The song was popular even amongst Harvard students, and due to the students' request, the girls went all the way to Harvard to personally teach them the dance moves.

Dear. Mom was composed by Kim Tae-Sung, while the lyrics were composed by his girlfriend Ivy, though she used a penname ("The Lighthouse") in the album credits.

Way To Go is a re-make of a So Nyuh Shi Dae CF song, "Haptic Motion".

The mini album sold 65,000 copies after 13 days of its release, and the total numbers are over 100,000 copies.
