Information

THE BEST is the first Japanese best album released by Girls' Generation. The album was released in three versions: a Limited Complete Edition (2CD+Blu-Ray), a Limited Edition (CD+DVD) and a Regular Edition (CD Only). The Blu-ray content contains Korean and English music videos while the DVD does not. The Limited Complete Edition and Limited Edition come with a photobook with 64 pages. This album come with two new songs: "Indestructible" and the Japanese version of the song Mr.Mr..

THE BEST (Type-F) was relesed two weeks later. The album was released in two versions: a Limited Edition (Original Bag + CD) and a Regular Edition (CD Only). This edition come with a new song: "Chain Reaction".

THE BEST ~New/Standard Edition~ was released two months later. The album was released in two versions: a Limited Edition (The New Edition (CD+DVD)) and a Regular Edition (The Standard Edition (CD Only)). This edition come with two new song: "DIVINE" and "Show Girls". And comes with nine earphone jack figures representing the members in their outfits from the new music video. It also features the song "Chain Reaction", which was previously release on the Type-F of the album. The Standard Edition does not include "Show Girls" and only features 10 tracks, but is sold at a special price of 1,998yen.

The album is certified Gold for shipment of 100,000 copies.
