JYP Entertainment (JYP 엔터테인먼트; also known as JYPE) is a South Korean record label and entertainment company founded by Park Jin Young on September 11, 1997. It is headquartered in Seoul and is best known for launching groups such as Wonder Girls, 2AM, 2PM and god as well as solo singer Rain. In 2007 a US branch was opened in New York City and the company is considered one of the biggest comprehensive entertainment companies in South Korea along with SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment.
