THE BEST is the first Japanese best album released by Girls' Generation. The album was released in five versions: a Limited Complete Edition (2CD+Blu-Ray), a Limited Edition (CD+DVD), a Regular Edition (CD Only), and two editions sold from famina. The Blu-ray content contains Korean and English music videos while the DVD does not. The Limited Complete Edition and Limited Edition come with a photobook with 64 pages. This album come with two new songs, "Indestructible" and "Chain Reaction", and a Japanese version of the song Mr.Mr..
