"Been So Long" is the second single recorded by m-flo. It was solely released on a vinyl record and their first release to feature newly added member LISA (who was recording as UNIKA at the time of the recording). VERBAL and TAKU knew LISA from back in school and when they approached her she was working as a guest vocalist for the Ram Jam World project. "Been So Long" was also used in the game beat mania IIDX. The single would gain in popularity over time, eventually selling over 10,000 copies.
The song has been covered several times by artists inspired by m-flo. Loves... artist Kato Miliyah first re-worked the song and recorded "for so long" and "for so long PART 2" as B-sides on her sixth single "Last Summer" in 2006. A cover was recorded by JEJUNG & YUCHUN from Tohoshinki for the 2009 tribute album m-flo TRIBUTE ~maison de m-flo~. In 2011 AILI recorded a cover for m-flo TRIBUTE ~stitch the future and past~.
