"Butter" is a digital single released by BTS. It's their second song performed in English, with Dynamite being the first. It was first released as a digital single, with a physical edition released later in the summer.
The song was downloaded 27,772 times on its first day of release in Japan. This marks their largest digital sales in a debut day. It also set a new record for the biggest debut on Spotify, with 11.042 million first-day streams.
The music video for "Butter" was released on May 21st, with a teaser previously released on May 19th. It achieved an all-time record for the biggest music video première on YouTube, as well as most views withing its 24 first hours. It surpassed the previously record set by their single "Dynamite".
