"DOWN TOWN / Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta Nara" is the eighteenth single released by Sakamoto Maaya. The song "DOWN TOWN" was used as the opening theme for the anime Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru while the song "Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta Nara" was used as the opening theme for the OVA Tamayura. These songs are part of her 15th anniversary celebration campaign, and all songs from this single were covers of '70s hits. The single is Sakamoto's first to be released in both limited and regular editions.
The single was re-released as a 12" LP record on Face the Music label on January 19, 2011.
