New Chapter #1: The Chance Of Love is the eighth Korean studio album released by TVXQ!. The album was released in three editions: Type A, Type B and Type C version. It was their first full-length album since their discharge from the South Korean army. The song "Unmyeong (THE Chance of Love)" was used as the lead track. The album was received with mixed reviews by music critics because it was felt lacked of cohesion, but the duo's vocal performances were praised.
The album was recorded during their two-year hiatus because of their mandatory military service, where it done on their holiday and breaks from the military. The title of the album was a reflection of the duo's evolution from being a boy band to a mature vocal group. They described the album as "fluid" with "easy-listening" songs as starters, and then it dive into more mature-sounding styles. The album was meant to listened in order so it could play out like a movie.
The album reached #1 on weekly and #4 on monthly Gaon Albums Chart, selling around 110,589 copies. Meanwhile, it peaked at #7 on Oricon, making it the duo's lowest charting Korean studio album on the chart. The album also topped Itunes store on several countries, such as Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and six other countries.
