MOON is Koda Kumi's 40th single, and was released in the standard CD-only and CD+DVD packages. Similar to FREAKY and 4 hot wave, the single has 4 tracks, however they are not all considered A-sides; only "Moon Crying" and "That Ain't Cool" were on her next album, TRICK. The single did not reach #1 in the Oricon rankings, but it had a steady run on the charts and sold over 100 000 copies.
"That Ain't Cool" received a new PV with alternate shots and car scenes on Koda's 7th album, TRICK.
