"Himitsu no Hanazono" is Matsuda Seiko's 12th single. It was re-released in CD format in 2004 including the instrumental tracks. It reached #1 on Oricon charts and sold nearly 400,000 copies, the re-edition CD reached #105 and charted for one week. With this single Matsuda set a new record of 10 consecutive #1 singles on Oricon chart, beating the female duo Pink Lady who had the record of 9 consecutive #1 singles since 1978.
