Formed in late 2005, DEF.DIVA's debut single, "Suki Sugite Baka Mitai", reached #1 on the Oricon charts and for a time, held the record for the lowest sales needed to reach the top spot.

This duo was formed with their debut single, "Thanks!", as the theme song for the film Sukeban Deka Code Name = Asamiya Saki starring Matsuura as the title character.

This unit was formed to celebrate Morning Musume's tenth anniversary, and released two singles and one live DVD.

High-King

High-King was formed to promote Cinderella The Musical starring Morning Musume. Their debut single, "C\C (Cinderella\Complex)", was used as the play's theme song. High-King made a return in 2009 as one of the seven "Champloo units" formed for a cover album, singing "DIAMONDS", as well as recording another original song, "DESTINY LOVE", for the end-of-the-year album Petit Best 10.

This group was specifically created to perform at the Expo 2010. Junjun and Linlin, as representatives of the Expo's location and their home country, personally chose Kusumi and Natsuyaki to perform with them, due to the latter two having expressed their wishes to visit China.

A yearly challenge from 2000 to 2005, all members of Hello! Project would be "shuffled" into three different groups, who would each release one single to see which one will outsell the others.

Morning Musume's Kusumi Koharu was the seiyuu for Tsukishima Kirari, the main character of Kirarin Revolution, an anime which ran from 2006 to 2009.
