_genic is the eleventh studio album recorded by Amuro Namie. It is Amuro's second Electronic dance music orientated record. The album was released in three versions: a CD+Blu-ray edition, a CD+DVD edition and a CD edition. There were no singles issued leading into the record's release. The song "What I Did for Love" is a cover of David Guetta's February 2015 single featuring Emeli Sandé.
The album is certified Platinum by Recording Industry Association of Japan for shipments over 250,000 copies.
Packaging Pictures
Each edition of _genic features a metallic silver slip cover with a cut out, reviewing some of Amuro's picture found underneath. It was designed by Hirota Jun, featuring Suzuki Toshiyuki as the art director, and TISCH's the photographer.
Oricon Chart Positions
The album reached #1 on the weekly Oricon chart, and continued to rank for a total of 41 weeks (almost a whole year). The record sold 246,269 copies in 2015, making it the #16 album of the year.
