NAMIE AMURO TOUR "GENIUS 2000" is the fifth video released by Amuro Namie, and it is her third concert video. The DVD features multi angles for the tracks "toi et moi", "NEXT TO YOU", and "LOVE 2000". The DVD was re-released in 2012 for Amuro's 20th anniversary. The initial DVD release peaked at #9 on the Oricon charts, and charted for 18 weeks, while the 20th anniversary DVD peaked at #80 on the Oricon charts, and charted for 3 weeks.
The concert video was filmed as part of the "NAMIE AMURO TOUR GENIUS 2000" tour from March to May 2000, spanning 17 dates and 8 cities and venues. After this tour, Amuro made her only American performance in Honolulu, Hawaii, for a one-time special concert called "Live in Hawaii "Big Wave Honolulu"" on May 14, 2000. The special concert was part of a celebration of 100 years of emigration between Hawaii and Okinawa, in which proceeds benefited the local Hawaiian community of Okinawan descent; the setlist was similar to her "GENIUS 2000" tour.
