Both songs have the same melody, which was composed by TSUNKU of Hello! Project and SharanQ fame. The c/w song, LOVE ~since1999~, also had lyrics by TSUNKU and was a duet sung with him. The songs were the love theme and opening theme, respectively, for the TV drama "SEMI-DOUBLE." The single reached #1 on the Oricon weekly charts - her first single to do so. It also reached #1 on the monthly chart. On the yearly chart, LOVE ~Destiny~ reached #30 for 1999. It stayed on the charts for a total of twenty-six weeks.
