"Free & Easy" is Hamasaki Ayumi's 26th single. "Free & Easy" was used as the Panasonic Stereo System "57MD" CM song. Naturally "dolly remix" was used as the KOSÉ VISEÉ CM song. It was released on the same day as "Hamasaki Republic", a collaboration Free & Easy magazine. This single reached #1 on the Oricon charts and charted for nine weeks. It sold 486,520 copies, becoming the #15 single of 2002.

HΛL received an "Arrangement Award" at the 44th Japan Record Awards with his arrangement of this song.

The music video for "Free & Easy" was directed by Takeishi Wataru. Hamasaki is depicted as a modern Joan of Arc. It shows her locked up in a very white room in a white building. After she is fed grapes, she is picked up to be executed. All the while shots are shown of a couple of people painting and adorning a coffin.
