Information

60s 70s 80s is the 32nd single released by Amuro Namie. The single was released in two editions: CD+DVD and CD only. All of the songs are being used for Vidal Sassoon's latest CM campaign. Each one the songs represent a certain era in time and even sample a hit song from their era.

"NEW LOOK" represents the 1960's and features a sample from The Supremes' "Baby Love". "ROCK STEADY" represents the 1970's and features a sample from Aretha Franklin's song "Rock Steady". The last song, "WHAT A FEELING" represents the 1980's and features samples from Irene Cara's "What a Feeling", which was the theme for the 1983 film Flashdance.

Namie first performed these songs on January 17, 2008 in front of a selected audience of 150 people.

60s 70s 80s sold 114,000 copies in the first week, becoming Namie's best first-week sales since "NEVER END" in 2001. The single hit #1 in its second week of release on the Oricon charts, making it her first #1 single in 10 years, since "I HAVE NEVER SEEN". The single reached #2 in its third week, keeping out of the top position by 20th Century's "Ore ja Nakya, Kimi ja Nakya" by a mere 1,686 copies. Although on the newly instated Billboard Japan, 60s 70s 80s remained at the #1 position.
