For My Dear... is Hamasaki Ayumi's fourth single under the avex trax label. The song was used in commercials for Morinaga's Meringue Chocolates. Footage from the song's PV was used in the commercial.

The single reached #9 on the Oricon charts and stayed on the charts for a total of seven weeks. During the first week on the Oricon the single sold 28,590 copies, since then the single has gone on to sell a total of 74,440 copies.

Reissue

The single was reissued as a 5" CD on February 28th, 2001 (as were Ayu's other 3" singles). The tracklist was expanded by the addition of remixes from the ayu-mi-x BOX SET-era analog release.

The "For My Dear..." PV was directed by Yokoh (aka Hiramitsu) Odagami. The video follows the love stories between two couples, while Ayu sits at a table in a bar watching them. The story scenes are interrupted later by scenes of Ayu singing on a Heavenly looking set.
