"Don't wanna cry" is the third single released by Amuro Namie. It was used as the DyDo Drink commerical song. It won the top prize at the 38th Annual Nihon Record Taishou and won the Best Single award at the 11th Annual Nihon Golden Disc Taishou. She was later invited to perform the song at the end of the year program Kouhaku Uta Gassen in 1996, making it Amuro's second appearance. The b-side "present" was later reworked for Amuro's debut studio album SWEET 19 BLUES.
The single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon chart, and continued to rank for a total of 22 weeks. In 1996 it sold 1,371,730 copies, becoming the #9 single of the year. In all it sold a total of 1,389,700 copies. This is her second single to reach #1 and sell over a million copies. This is her second best-selling single.
The choreography for music video was created by kaba from the Komuro Tetsuya produced group dos.
