Information

"SURREAL" is Hamasaki Ayumi's 17th single. It was released on the same day as the album Duty. It was used as the Takanoyuri Beauty Clinic "Koisuru Shirohada" CM song. This single reached #1 on the Oricon charts and charted for seven weeks. It sold 417,210 copies, becoming the #60 single of 2000.

"SURREAL" is also Hamasaki Ayumi's first video single, released in VHS, VCD and DVD formats.

The music video for "SURREAL" was directed by Takeishi Wataru. The video shows Hamasaki waking up in her bed, and looking around to see that she's on a beach. She hikes up a mountain and ultimately to a gazebo inside a brightly-colored jungle area, where she sees herself as a wildcat. The dream environment eventually crumbles, and Hamasaki wakes up... or does she?
