Information

"Sakura no Hanabiratachi" is AKB48's indie debut single. The title track was used as the ending theme for the TBS dorama Desu yo ne. and CM song for NTT DoCoMo "Terebi Denwa". The second track, Dear my teacher, was the ending for the TV Asahi variety show Mitake Uranai. This single reached #10 on the weekly Oricon charts, charted for eight weeks and sold 46,274 copies.

In the PV the entire original Team A performed this song, however they were five front girl positions: Nakanishi Rina, Narita Risa, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko, and Hoshino Michiru.

"Sakura no Hanabiratachi" 2008 is AKB48's eighth major single, and their last under DefSTAR Records label. The song was redone featuring members of Team K and Team B, and was used as the ending theme for TBS' variety show Arabikidan. It was released in three different versions: a limited edition type A with a DVD, a limited edition type B with an extra song and a regular edition. This single reached #10 on the weekly Oricon charts with 22,112 sold, charted for five weeks and sold 25,482 copies.
