Baito AKB
Baito AKB is a project that was sponsored alongside the part-time job company "Baitoru." It consists of a group of members who joined AKB48 through a part-time contract.

2nd Generation - Paruru Selection
Information
First Debut
On August 10, 2014, AKB48 announced plans to collaborate with "Baitoru" and create a group of members who will temporarily work alongside the group. The job opening was open between August 10 and September 10.
On September 24, 2014, 53 girls were selected out of 13,246 participants, to form the group. The members would hold part-time contracts with AKS, and will participate in concerts, handshake events, and stages, while being paid ¥1000 per hour. These contracts would last until February 2015. Between the unveil and the start in October 2014, four members left and one member joined the group. Until their final performance, 6 members left the group.
The group was coupled with a promo campaign, which included a song and new CM for "Baitoru," where they would perform Baitoru Rotation. The CM also featured Oshima Ryoka, Owada Nana, Okada Nana, Kizaki Yuria, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Mukaichi Mion, Kawamoto Saya, Matsui Jurina, Miyawaki Sakura, and Watanabe Mayu.
On November 3, 2014, the group attended their first event at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, which was for the release of Oshima Yuko Sotsugyou Concert in Ajinomoto Stadium ~6-gatsu 8-ka Kousui Kakuritsu 56% (5-gatsu 16-nichi Genzai), Teruterubouzu wa Hontou ni Kouka ga Aru no ka?~. Saeki Mika, Ogino Yuka, Kataigi Madoka, Ebisawa Megumi, Kamitani Saya, Kawaguchi Mami, Nishigata Marina, Kinoshita Mayu, Nakamura Yuuka, Kinoshita Suzuka, Yashiro Kana, Akasaka Misaki, Suzuki Yumin, Kawamura Maho, Chiyoda Yui, and another member participated in the event.
On November 14, 2014, the group made their first stage appearance during Team A's stage. Ogino Yuka, Kamitani Saya, Kawaguchi Mami, Kinoshita Mayu, Kurosawa Ayaka, and Nakagawa Rina participated as backup dancers.
On February 28, 2015, Baito AKB had their first and last solo performance on the theater before the contracts would expire. Some of the members announced plans to participate in the AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi 2015, while others expressed their interest in participating in the NGT48 auditions.
Revival
On November 14, 2015, AKB48 announced another plan to collaborate with "Baitoru," but in this case, Shimazaki Haruka would become the producer of the new Baito AKB. This project was known as the Baito AKB Paruru Selection. The selected members will have their own debut CD and another new CM.
On February 8, 2016, 3 girls were selected out of 6,793 participants. The members would hold part-time contracts with AKS, and will participate in concerts, handshake events, and stages, while being paid ¥1000 per hour. These contracts would last until August 10, 2016. One member left before their debut.
On March 20, 2016, the group re-debuted at TOKYO GIRLS MUSIC FES. 2016.
Trivia
- Saeki Mika was a former member of AKB48 who left the group in 2009 due to an injury.
- Akasaka Misaki, Isshiki Rena, Ogino Yuka, Kawaguchi Mami, Kusakabe Aina, Shibata Yui, Seiji Reina, Takahashi Kira, Nishigata Marina, Matsuoka Hana, and Mega Yako participated in the AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi 2015 after Baito AKB.
- Takahashi was drafted by AKB48
- Isshiki was drafted by SKE48
- Shibata was drafted by NMB48
- Matsuoka was drafted by HKT48
- Ogino and Nishigata were drafted by NGT48.
- After not being selected, Kusakabe and Seiji auditioned for NGT48, where they passed and formed the first generation along twenty other girls.
