Majisuka Gakuen (マジすか学園) is a Japanese drama that mainly features members of the idol group AKB48, along with sister groups SKE48 and SDN48. It aired Fridays at 24:12 on TV Tokyo from January 8, 2010 to March 26, 2010. The average viewership rating was 3.67% over 12 episodes.
A second season, Majisuka Gakuen 2 (マジすか学園2), has been announced for April 15, 2011.
Synopsis
Maeda Atsuko (herself) is transferred to Majisuka Gakuen, a high school known for violence. Every day, fights break out, and all the students dream about fighting their way to the top of the Rappapa staircase. As Maeda Atsuko learns what being serious is all about, she is helped by fellow transfer student Onizuka Daruma (Nachu).
Background

Majisuka Gakuen was announced in December 2009. The first promotional picture used an image from AKB48's first #1 single, "RIVER", with a sign that said "coming soon". The drama had the same timeslot as Mendol, which featured the AKB48 subunit no3b.
